Adoption Advocacy of Tennessee provides all adoption services, including pre and post adoption planning for adoptive parents, birthmother pre-adoption and post-adoption counseling (at no charge to the birth mother), and coordination with adoption professionals in any state.
We also manage communication with all members of the adoption triad, financial assistance to the birthmothers, legal services for surrender of parental rights, paternity, final decree, ICPC and post-adoption communication services (depending on the preference of the birthmothers and adoptive parents) for many years to come.
Adoptive parents Process
If you live in Tennessee and you are seeking to adopt a home study is required. Upon completion of the home study you can adopt from any state. A home study takes about 5 weeks to complete.
To Be Eligible to Adopt
You have options
RESPITE CARE--Are you seeking care for your child typically 1-30 days. The purpose is reunification. (in an approved home)
SAFE CARE--Are you seeking a longer term care option for your child (longer than 30 days) which can be 30 days or longer. The purpose is reunification at the end of the SAFE CARE. (in an approved home)
ADOPTION PLAN--Are you seeking and ADOPTION PLAN. These can be achieved many different ways. You can decide how this looks for you. You can have an open adoption where you are involved in your child's life or you can decide a different path. We are NOT FOSTER CARE. This is an permanent option that you can still be involved with as much as you desire.
