Adoption Advocacy of Tennessee provides all adoption services, including pre- and post-adoption planning for adoptive parents, birthmother pre-adoption and post-adoption counseling (at no charge to her), and coordination with adoption professionals in any state.

We also manage communication with all members of the adoption triad, financial assistance to the birthmothers, legal services for surrender of parental rights, paternity, final decree, ICPC and post-adoption communication services (depending on the preference of the birthmothers and adoptive parents) for many years to come.

Adoptive parents Process

If you live in Tennessee and you are seeking to adopt a home study is required.  Upon completion of the home study you can adopt from any state.  A home study takes about 5 weeks to complete.

To Be Eligible to Adopt

• You need to be at least 25 years old
• Single or a Married couple 
• Married at least 3 years
• Be a Tennessee resident for at least 6 months
• Parents need to pass a medical screening by a doctor
• Must be alcohol and drug-free
• Be financially stable and able to show care of a new child does not present a burden on finances
